Analisis Physical Self-Concept Mahasiswa Berdasarkan Jenis Kelamin dan Tingkat Aktivitas Fisik

Physical Self-Concept merupakan salah satu aspek psikologis yang berperan penting dalam pembentukan persepsi individu terhadap kemampuan, kondisi, dan penampilan fisiknya. Pada mahasiswa bidang keolahragaan, Physical Self-Concept yang positif dapat mendukung keterlibatan dalam aktivitas fisik, kepercayaan diri, dan perkembangan kompetensi olahraga. Physical Self-Concept dapat dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, di antaranya jenis kelamin dan tingkat aktivitas fisik. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis Physical Self-Concept berdasarkan jenis kelamin dan tingkat aktivitas fisik pada mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain survei cross-sectional yang melibatkan 128 mahasiswa sebagai sampel penelitian. Physical Self-Concept diukur menggunakan Physical Self-Description Questionnaire Short (PSDQ-S), sedangkan tingkat aktivitas fisik diukur menggunakan International Physical Activity Questionnaire Short (IPAQ-S). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa memiliki Physical Self-Concept yang positif dengan skor rata-rata sebesar 4,39 ± 0,56. Mahasiswa laki-laki memiliki Physical Self-Concept yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan mahasiswa perempuan (4,56 ± 0,47 vs 4,16 ± 0,53; p = 0,001). Selain itu, terdapat perbedaan Physical Self-Concept berdasarkan tingkat aktivitas fisik, di mana mahasiswa dengan tingkat aktivitas fisik tinggi menunjukkan skor tertinggi (4,71 ± 0,38), diikuti tingkat aktivitas fisik sedang (4,33 ± 0,45), dan rendah (3,98 ± 0,49). Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa tingkat aktivitas fisik memberikan pengaruh yang besar terhadap Physical Self-Concept (Partial Eta Squared = 0,241). Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa jenis kelamin dan tingkat aktivitas fisik merupakan faktor yang berkontribusi dalam pembentukan Physical Self-Concept pada mahasiswa. Oleh karena itu, peningkatan partisipasi dalam aktivitas fisik perlu didorong untuk mendukung perkembangan fisik dan psikologis mahasiswa di lingkungan perguruan tinggi.
