Journal History

The Jurnal Pendidikan MIPA was first published in printed form in 2010 by STKIP Taman Siswa Bima. As part of its efforts to obtain official national recognition, the journal applied for an International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) in 2015 with a biannual publication frequency. The application was approved by the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) through the Center for Scientific Data and Documentation as the National ISSN Center of Indonesia, resulting in the assignment of ISSN 2088-0294 for the printed version.

In response to developments in information technology and to enhance the accessibility of scholarly publications, the Journal of Mathematics and Science Education began online publication in 2018 using the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. In the same year, the journal obtained an electronic ISSN (e-ISSN) 2621-9166 as the official identifier for its online edition.

The journal submitted its first application for accreditation through the National Journal Accreditation system (ARJUNA) in 2019 and was awarded SINTA 5 accreditation in 2020. Continuous improvements in journal management and article quality led to a higher accreditation status, with the journal achieving SINTA 4 accreditation in 2022 following a reaccreditation process. In 2025, the journal underwent another reaccreditation and successfully maintained its SINTA 4 accreditation status.

As part of its commitment to improving publication consistency and expanding the dissemination of research findings, the Journal of Mathematics and Science Education increased its publication frequency in 2022 from biannual to quarterly issues. Furthermore, starting in 2026, the journal further increased its publication frequency to a bimonthly schedule, resulting in six issues published annually.
